I am a Danish stage director, educated from the University of the Arts in Amsterdam, Netherland.
I grew up on the western countryside in Denmark were I started acting as very young. When I was seventeen years old, I started writing and directing my own plays. Ever since, I have explored and developed my practice through studies and several jobs in the professional theatre landscape.
I have directed and written several theatre plays that have been shown on various theatres and theatre festivals, across Europe.
My aim with making theatre is to tell stories through a visual experience in the theatrespace, which can bring the audience new thoughts, the possibility of looking into themself or to bring them a new perspective on our world.
In my practice I want to explore the border between imaginary worlds and our reality. I want to create images that speaks to our imagination and that can invite the inner child in the adult being to become awake.
Without imagination, I don't believe that we can change anything in the world. We must be able to imagine, in order to be able to develop.
This I investigate by strong use of light, sound and space, which i prefer to build into the concept from an early stage. For me all the elements that are free to make use of in the theatrespace, like light, sound, music, movement, text and space, are as importent to implement in the storytelling as the actor who plays it.
