WORLD ONE
Theatre Frascati, Amsterdam, Netherland. January 2019.
Based on scientific research, written by Machteld Touwen.
With this performance I wanted to create a new renaissance.
We human beings have to act fast, if we want to save our planet, after all what we have done to it. But if you ask me, I am not afraid if Planet Earth will survive or not. Definitely Earth will survive. But I doubt about the human existence.
With this performance I wanted to question whether it would be so bad if human beings were extinct? Or could it be a natural part of the evolution?
Through the process, I wanted to explore a new working method; To start the project in a close collaboration with a writer, who would write new material based on conversations we had with each other and inspirational material that I provided her with. With two mimers and an actress we explored how to "translate" the written material into physical theatre.
